Yup, for sure this is a cop-out. I've just changed the title of the "October Competition" link to read "December". I'm afraid that when there's a desion between mixing exciting music and doing the admin here, well, the site's going to lose out every time. I've not forgotten and I'll let the willers know in a week or so - he says again. Still, gotta have something to do over Christmas.
I'm writing a column in Guitar Interactive magazine. It's called Making Tracks and in the early editions I'm aiming to cover the real basics of recording for musicians who've not really been that involved before. I'm also about to start to record a series of tutorials for the new section on this site. So - the compo!! Dead simple - just 2 tiny steps. Firstly, register (if you haven't already) and tell me what you'd like to see covered, or what gives you problems. Secondly, pop over to Facebook and "like" this entry there. I'll pick a couple of interesting ones, and the senders can get a track mixed or mastered for free - so if you've wondered what the difference might be then now's your chance to find-out.
New Tutorials section coming soon
During September I intended to have a bit of a rearrangement of the Dustbowl Audio site to include a new section dedicted to tutorial material. Then I got busy and everything has deadlines, so - so new target date is mid November - sometime. I'll still be covering basics and tips and tricks with audio and video examples. Take a moment to register here and I'll notify you when the new section is active, and if you'd like to drop me a line and let me know what you'd like to see covered you can do that here. Best suggestion by 21 Nov wins a free track mix or master! (I'll honour the 21 Sept date too once I get a chance to read them).
